STEP 1 - THE JOB ROLE


What is a Sales Associate?

  • Retail Sales — A sales associate works onboard cruise ships as a sales expert. You will be responsible for introducing a variety of brands to cruise ship guests and work hard to close sales. You have a hunger and passion for successful sales (and have previous metrics to prove this success!)

  • Storytelling/Communication — As the guest’s typical first point of contact in our retail stores on board, you will have an outgoing, enthusiastic personality matched with clear communication skills to help them find what they are looking for. White-glove, personable service is a must and you have mastered the art of hospitality required for excellent customer service skills.

  • Collaboration — Onboard Sales Associates and Management work together to close sales and achieve company targets. You will have a sterling reputation for working well with others in a large team setting and know how to utilize everyone’s strengths to make sure every guest has a satisfactory experience while in our stores.

  • Inventory Management - You will be involved in ensuring that stores onboard are well stocked and well managed, in accordance with company policies. This will involve merchandising, inventories, receiving deliveries, stock counts and transfers.

What Experience is Needed?

· Successful sales experience in retail required, preferably in the duty-free retail sector

· Current/former cruise ship sales experience highly preferred

· Fluency in English required, any at least one other additional spoken language!

STEP 2 - THE REQUIREMENTS


Getting onboard a cruise ship for the first time is a little bit complicated and as such you need to be prepared for the steps you will need to take before you can start working.  Be mindful of these and prepared for what is required.  It can take 3-6 months to get onboard, and for those candidates who use us, we will help, guide and support you all the way until you step onboard.

Before you embark for the first time you will need to go through 5 stages to get you onboard, which we will guide you through as part of your application process with us:

  1. Application (this part)

  2. Interview and Assessment with us first, then client afterwards

  3. Medical

  4. Visa Application

  5. Pre-employment HR certification including:

    1. Police clearance certificate

    2. STCW training

    3. HR paperwork



STEP 3 - OUR UNIQUE SUPPORT
