Step 1 - The Job Role

We are looking for experienced and dynamic Shopping Concierges for one of the major cruise retail operators  to join them on board multiple major cruise lines!


Be the go-to for:


· Luxury Sales — As THE onboard shopping expert, you will be like a celebrity! You will promote a variety of high-end luxury retail brands and educate cruise ship guests on how to buy them. And of course, you will help your guests commemorate their life’s most important moments and shop for their dream pieces!

· Storytelling/Presentations — You will take part in all kinds of events onboard the ship to promote luxury shopping. You will host shows and seminars that educate the guests on the endless array of luxury brands at their fingertips!

· Media & Marketing Management — You will have your own channel on the stateroom TV, where the guests will get to know you and learn about the incredible opportunities that await them. You will also work with teams shoreside and onboard to film a variety of content that will help build your brand and promote to the guests!


Qualifications:


· Successful sales experience required (luxury diamond and gemstone sales experience highly preferred)

· Professional acting and/or theatrical background HIGHLY sought after

· Current/former cruise ship crew members a bonus, especially in a presentation or stage role! (auctioneers, singers/dancers, performers, etc.)

· Fluency in English required, any additional spoken languages are a bonus!

· Soft skills: confidence, credibility, approachability

Note: this is an independent contractor position that requires willingness and ability to accept 6-month rotational contracts at sea.

Step 2 - Requirements


Before you start an amazing adventure on the oceans and growing your career, it is important to know that getting onboard a cruise ship for the first time is a little bit complicated. As such, you need to be fully prepared for the steps you will need to take before you can start working.  


It can take 3-6 months to get onboard, and for those candidates who use us to find a job onboard, we will help, guide and support you all the way until you embark safely.

Before you step onto the gangway and into your first cruise ship you will need to go through 6 main stages to get there, which we will guide you through as part of your application process with us.

  1. Application (this part)

  2. Interview and Assessment (with us first, then with client afterwards)

  3. Medical (between $300 - 600)

  4. C1/D Visa Application (typically around $180 - reimbursed onboard)

  5. Pre-employment HR certification including:

    1. Police clearance certificate

    2. STCW training (between $100 basic - $800 comprehensive)

    3. HR paperwork

  6. Travel arrangements (cost depends on operator)

Step 4 - Time to Apply

So, you have seen the job description, you have learnt about the requirements and you understand the support that is available from us....


Now, it is time for you to apply for the role. To do this we would like you to complete 2 tasks:


  • CV: Ensure that your CV is up to date and saved in PDF format to be uploaded. It needs to be ATS friendly and contain your full name, your email address, your work history, your nationality.

  • Application Form: Complete the rest of our application form with requested additional details / understanding not shown on your CV.
