Job Role: Destination Guide

Position Summary

As a Destination Guide, you will be a knowledgeable and passionate professional dedicated to enriching our guests' journeys. Your primary focus is to provide detailed, accurate, and engaging information about the unique regions and ports-of-call for each voyage. You will serve as a bridge between the ship and the shore, assisting guests in planning their activities to ensure they maximize their time both onboard and ashore, ultimately enhancing the overall cruise experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Captivating Presentations: Deliver high-quality, educational live shows, including the Destination Show (cultural, historical, and recreational highlights) and the Shopping Show (onboard and shoreside opportunities). You will also refine scripts and collaborate with technicians to ensure professional delivery.

  • Personalized Guest Engagement: Maintain a strong presence at your desk and during events to offer one-on-one consultations. You will provide expert advice on attractions, local customs, and must-see spots, while also answering non-destination-related questions with a "guest-first" mindset.

  • Operational Support: Manage gangway guidance by distributing port materials during high-traffic hours and supporting Tour Dispatch when necessary.

  • Marketing Management: Oversee all program marketing, including digital displays, printed materials, and the daily program. You will coordinate with the Housekeeping department to ensure marketing materials reach guest staterooms on schedule.

  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with Retail, Shore Excursions, Food & Beverage, and Future Cruise departments to craft immersive experiences. You are expected to attend all revenue meetings and support revenue goals across the ship.

  • Administrative Excellence: Manage the inventory of print materials, download approved media from FTP sites, and submit regular voyage reports to shoreside management.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 2–4 years of experience delivering engaging guest-facing presentations, tours, or events, with a proven ability to educate and entertain.

  • Sales Background: 1–3 years of experience in sales with a strong focus on driving guest engagement and recommending tailored experiences.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional public speaking abilities and the capacity to build meaningful relationships with guests and crew.

  • Knowledge: Solid existing knowledge of global destinations or the ability to quickly learn and confidently present new destination-specific content.

  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic shipboard environment, balancing multiple priorities with enthusiasm and professionalism.

  • Language: Fluency in multiple languages is considered a significant benefit.
